1). Here's the sculpture's design sketch (in Super Sculpey). It's about 3 inches tall. I'm trying to determine the overall
form and posing of the sculpture.

2). Here's the sculpture's rough foundation in Super Sculpey. I'm sculpting at roughly 1/6 scale.
I had a simple armature underneath the Super Sculpey - in this case, a crumbled up piece of aluminum foil

3). Here's the Phase One detail work on the head. I'm using Magic Sculpt (a brand of epoxy putty clay) over the baked
Super Sculpey core (this is not necessary step in terms of sculpting obviously, it's just something that I do).
Depending on the result, I may add a layer of Chavant clay over this later (that's another topic though, I may do a video how-to
to cover my process in the days to come)

4). Close-ups of the sculpt and updated look of the torso. I took some creative liberty and added my interpretation
of the character. The original character was somewhat armless, so I added extremities growing out of the arm sockets
that look like fingers / claws to serve as a hint of what the creature may evolve into.

5). The box of Super Sculpey next to the piece was for scale reference.

6/3/09 - Just posted some updated / in-progress shots of the sculpt. It is 1/6 scale. At this stage, it's mostly
a baked Super Sculpey core with details done in Magic Sculpt Epoxy Clay. I will most likely finish the final detail work
in Chavant.
2/25/09 - THE STORY OF M.
I sculpted a Makaraga roughly 10 years ago. It was a personal project.
I hadn't seen the movie back then, but I saw pictures from the film and I loved the monster's design.
Over the past year, I have received quite a few inquiries about the Makaraga sculpt,
so here I am, 10 years later (having watched the movie :), sculpting the Makaraga for a second time.
This will be my interpretation of Mr. Keita Amemiya's fantastic creature design. Coming soon. Monster M.
2/20/09 - New sculpt in progress. Will be unveiled soon. Please check back for updates.
