2/2/09 - Here's my latest, Hunter's Moon. It's roughly 13.5 inches tall (13.5x11x10 inches).
I'm pretty much done with the overall design, will be refining the anatomy and details next.
This is basically a tribal hunter :)
Amazing work. I am hoping that this becomes a kit soon. beautiful piece!

Stark and stunning. The quintesential afrikaan hunter. It speaks on so many levels. The aborigine head is wicked bad! Do it in bronze and sign me up as your first customer! Truly modern genius in progress. Lucky us who get to sit and wait and watch you wield your magic. Thank you.

thanks guys.
opdycke, hopefully there can be enough interest to allow this to take the kit form :) this'll be a complex piece to mold/produce.
Here're some of my design notes on this:
I was reading National Geographic one day and I read about how cheetahs can run at 60+mph but only for short spurs (beucase of acid build-up in the thigh muscles..), anyways, I thought what if the creature evolved to a point that it can stand upright and wield weapons.. that it'd drop to all fours to chase down a prey and in mid-motion reach up just high enough to throw a spear and then continue chasing... that will make him a much deadlier hunter!
for his accessories and "clothing", I tried to keep it simple and less decorated (otherwise it will reflect a higher cultural aspect/development of the creature which will take away some of the rawness).
I'm resculpting the head - updates are coming. thanks again!

Great imagination used on this one...as always. I thought this was quite a "normal" piece for you until i saw all the human/animal trophies.... lol. Can't wait to see it finished.

What a knockout man! This guy feels like he's from the same world that your Quadruped is from. Absolutley love it!

Simon your work reminiscent of Frank Frazetta in the way it just draws you right into the scene; I'm simply sucked into what's going with this character or what lies beyond the periphery of the base he stands on. I really want to know what's going inside his mind...
This piece is majesty!

The title for this is Hunter's Moon - a cheetah-man (or leopard-man) tribal hunter holding his gazelle-man prey and with a bunny-man tied to his waist. and then there's a severed head tied to his back (I dont know what that is yet..).
