My design for Medusa is undoubtedly a drastic departure from the traditional portrayal of Medusa. What I'm doing here is more abstract than a literal interpretation. The eyes are hidden, and they will emerge before the moments of an attack. There's no explicit expression of a gender, but the hint of femininity in the posture (or ambiguity rather), was intended to add a deeper layer of mystery to this creature/character. This creature is a shape-shifter, it can choose to become more human, more reptilian.
